Media

It shouldn’t be possible for you to upload any media to this site.

Cookies

I don’t think there are any cookies from this site. Certainly nothing for tracking/identifying visitors. However, some data is collected about visitors, see the bit about “Who we share your data with”.

Embedded content from other websites

No embedded content– just text and images as far as I know.

Who we share your data with

I am trying out the analytics service counter.dev just as a curiosity. It works by adding a script in the head of each page, grabs some user-agent info and sends it to their server. Basically it is grabbing the OS, browser, screen size, location, and referrer (from where you clicked the link to visit longjohnjones.com). After a day of use, here is basically the summary of info collected:

counter.dev is open-source, you can find their repo on Github here.

In the future, I may switch to a silly idea of having a button that allows users to voluntarily submit the same data as above for collection in a self-hosted database, rather than automatically collecting the information. But until someone screams about it, it’s on the back burner.

How long we retain your data

We keep all of the data we have on you (which is none) for 0 days.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service (which we don’t have, because there are no comments).
